Always a treat. Every time I am in Ames to visit we make the short trip to Gilbert. Never disappoints.
I work close by, so eat here ALOT. Generous portions, great prices and exceptionally fresh....always. I'm one of those people that pretty much never wants it quite the way is comes, but they always accommodate my wishes, without eye-rolling about it (well, at least to my face:-). One of my top ten places to eat in Story County.
The Vault has a nice atmosphere and a short and sweet menu. I like that it rotates every so often so there is always something new. I had the club sandwich and it was very good with fresh ingredients!
My second visit dining in and it was fabulous! I got the roast beef sandwich and potato salad. The sandwich was tasty and filling, and the potato salad was the creamiest I've ever had! Definitely will be back. Love that they are well-established at this location.
Lovely little spot with the cutest aesthetic and environment. This restaurant is in an old bank and all of the original floors and stands are still used which I find unique. There’s a few places to sit, you can park across the road as well. From the outside to inside it’s very cozy and vintage in a sense. They offer outdoor seating as well. I find it super kind that they also have a little kid play area as well. The food was simple comfort food. The only downfall is that in a tight area with many customers it can end up taking a bit of time to get what you need. Overall though, this is a must stop by type of spot!
The Vault is amazing. Don't let the location sway you from making the drive out. The place is wonderfully decorated and unique. The staff were awesome, friendly and really fun to talk to. They have a rotating menu and this week I tried Almond French Toast and Corned Beef Hash. It was perfect - I have no complaints. My chai latte and black tea were great too. Great prices, great food, great staff and great ambience makes this a must visit. Highly recommend!!
Had a wonderful lunch with 10 ladies todayand it was Wonderful.. Amanda did an outstanding job. Our theme was Peaches and she incorporated them, especially the dessert, freah peach crisp Tge Vault, a little hidden gem, in Gilbert Iowa
My two daughters and I stumbled across this cute little coffee shop as we waited for a volleyball tourney to start in a nearby town. This has to be the cutest coffee shop I've been into in a while. It had an aesthetic like something you would see straight out of a movie coffee shop, and the drinks were wonderful and reasonably priced. We did not eat, but many others around us did and as the food came out we really started to regret not having the time, it looked and smelled delicious. This is quite a ways from us, but we've already been planning another trip to the area just so we can come here again.
